Episode Recap: Boys Do Cry
Season 5, Episode 15: Boys Do Cry
Recap: The family starts going to church when Lois gets a job as an organist, but Stewie gets sick off of Communion wine, which convinces the congregation that he’s possessed. The Griffins then move to Texas, where Peter becomes a cowboy, Stewie enters the “Little Miss Texas” pageant and Chris and Meg sneak into President Bush’s ranch.
My take:
A truly great episode!
The Griffins move to Texas! They’re all backward and politically stubborn as a mule. Shouldn’t they have used stubborn as an Elephant.
In the organist tryout, Herbert plays “I Know What Boys Like” by the Waitresses.
Stewie meets Jesus. No Bing Bong this time!
Chuck Norris makes a cameo twice. Dick Cheney and his gun also make a cameo. GW makes a cameo as well. Chris borrows his GW’s under and has a Sixteen Candles moment.“Belts are a great way to express opinions.”
Been to Dallas, Texas, never seen the news with newscasters wearing cowboy hats. I’ve also been on the east coast, and New Englanders and New Yorkers have always believed the west is still John Wayne’s west.
Peter becomes a cowboy and gets a horse. The Griffin’s house in Texas is enormous compared to their home in Quahog.
Stephanie (Stewie) wins a pageant. It’s Enrico Palazzo!
When is it on: Current and future airings of Family Guy.

This episode was a classic one of the best in ages …the whole fist behind chuck norris beard was a gold mine…The Victor Borge bit was classic; I was worried that it was maybe just a bit too “high-brow” for most people to get.
