Episode Recap: Mr. Griffin Goes to Washington

Friday, August 15th, 2008

Season 3, Episode 3: Mr. Griffin Goes to Washington

Recap: The toy factory at which Peter works is taken over by a cigarette company who hires Peter as the new president. He is then sent to Washington, D.C. as a lobbyist so they can create toys that encourage kids to smoke, and the entire family can’t help but enjoy the perks that come with the job.

My take:

You need to be in the right mood to watch this episode. It’s good but you need to be in the right mood. There are two themes - killing strippers and smoking.

Episode Recap: Bango Was His Name Oh!

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

Season 4, Episode 29: Bango Was His Name Oh!

Recap: Stewie sees for a man on TV who looks just like him. Convinced this man must be his real father, Stewie takes Brian to go on a cross-country road trip with Quagmire to find him and discover the truth. Meanwhile, Peter and Lois try to help Chris and Meg get dates so that they can have some “alone time.”

My take: One of the best! The best part about watching this Family guy episode the first time is that you didn’t really know what was going on and where the story was headed with Stewie and the Stu. Watching it again is even more fascinating since you can focus on the really awesome jokes.

Episode Recap: Prick Up Your Ears

Season 5, Episode 6: Prick Up Your Ears

Recap: Lois volunteers to teach sex-ed class after discovering Chris has been getting bad information on sex, though she is soon replaced by a Church spokesman. Meanwhile, Meg and her new boyfriend take an abstinence pledge but still manage to find a loophole, and Stewie goes to great lengths to destroy the Tooth Fairy.

My take:

Overall a good show. Some of the more memorable clips include the cat launcher. I have a cat so there are times I wish I could launch her across the room.

Episode Recap: Stewie B. Goode

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

Season 4, Episode 28: Stewie B. Goode

Recap: Stewie’s attempt to destroy a boy he doesn’t like lands him in a near-death experience where he gets a brief taste of life in Hell. This is enough to make Stewie resolve to act nicer to everyone, though he becomes an alcoholic in the process. Meanwhile Peter gets a new job as an editorial reporter on the local news.

My take: Overall an ok show. Some eighties references like Short Round from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

Peter has a stint on television in a segmet called WHAT REALLY GRINDS MY GEARS. The everyman finally has his say.
